Help A Child

We have a unique opportunity to go outside the walls of our church to spread Christ’s love to the community this Christmas. We are partnering with the Douglas County Department of Human Services to provide Christmas gifts for children in kinship family situations, meaning that they are staying with a family member or close friend rather than being placed in the foster care system.

To help ease the burden of grandparents, aunts and uncles or others who have taken a child into their home, we have the opportunity to “adopt” these children for Christmas. We are so blessed to get to share God’s love with children and their families who are finding themselves in an emotionally and financially difficult situation during the holidays...

Canyons has committed to fulfilling the Christmas wish lists of several local children. Those of you who want to participate will be given a child’s wish list, which includes both needs and wants, and you can then go shopping for the requested items. You may spend up to $100 to grant their Christmas wishes, but no more. Unwrapped gifts must be returned to Canyons no later than Friday, December 3rd.

You will have the opportunity to be paired with a child. As Christ followers, we know that Christmas is the celebration of the greatest gift the world has ever been given. Let’s share that gift, and the love and hope we have in Jesus, with our community. Please join us in being His hands and feet this Christmas.
